Are 401(k) Fees Making Companies Richer at the Expense of Workers?

Jason M. Breslow recently published a fantastic piece regarding the obstacles that can plaque plan sponsors as they try to offer a retirement plan to thier employees.  In his text Mr. Breslow talks about some of the same ideas that we at Carolina Wealth Management have been battling for years.  Additionally, Mr. Breslow had the opportunity to interview attorney Jerome Schlichter who has been fighting plan sposnors and plan providers on behalf of the participants.  The Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) requires plan fiduciaries, when selecting and monitoring service providers and plan investments, to act prudently and solely in the interest of the plan's participants and beneficiaries.
